Stick Battles Weather Events
Blood Moon, Sunset, and Gold Moon are attendance badges — then they rewrite the lobby.
Weather is how Stick Battles changes the map without shipping a new place ID. Blood Moon, Sunset, and Gold Moon each grant a first-time badge. Meteorologist asks you to see all non-special weathers. You cannot force the sky from a menu. You stay in public servers until it happens. This page is what each sky does to fights, and what it does not.
Calendar events (Halloween, Stickmas, NYAN, Gob) live on events. The 25-minute cup lives on tournament. Weather can overlap both.
First-time badges
| Badge | How you get it |
|---|---|
| Blood Moon | Experience Blood Moon for the first time |
| Sunset | Experience Sunset for the first time |
| Gold Moon | Experience Gold Moon for the first time |
| Meteorologist | Experience all non-special weathers |
These are attendance checks. You do not need a kill. You do not need a stick. You need to be in the server when the sky changes. AFK in a corner still usually counts; dying does not block it. Persistent Player (30 minutes without leaving) pairs well with weather hunting because hopping resets both.
Meteorologist is not “the three moons.” Special weathers and the non-special set are different lists. Stay logged in across ordinary skies too. Full badge table: badges.
How weather changes PvP
Low visibility (Blood Moon, heavy night) favors close kits: Table, Fighting, Gravity, Electric. People walk onto you. Dash still works if you hear the lobby, but long pokes miss. Clear Sunset favors Grapple, Long, and Magic teleports because you can see who is closest.
Gold Moon is a named special. Play it when it hits; do not rebuild your whole playstyle around a sky you cannot queue.
Lava is not weather, but it becomes more dangerous when you cannot see the edge. Can’t Touch This is still “die from lava” on purpose. Accidental lava during Blood Moon is just a death.
What to equip
If you are hunting first-time badges only, any stick is fine. If you also want kills, swap using the tier list:
- Dark sky: Gravity, Electric, Wall, Table.
- Clear sky: Dash, Magic, Grapple, Long.
- Mixed: keep Dash as the default and flex Wall if Table users appear.
Do not burn Star Potions on a weather you do not understand yet. Save potions for Gob or Champion.
Falling Star and Cosmic Cube
Those are world picks, not moons, but they share the “stay in the server” habit. Falling Star is a find. Cosmic Cube chooses you. Camping one tile for an hour is worse than playing fights while you wait. Map finds (Balloon, Table, Long) are easier to mix with weather hunting than a tournament is. How to get sticks is the unlock list.
After the sky flips back
The badge may pop late. Rejoin if it does not. Then go back to whatever you were farming. Weather is a modifier, not a season pass. There is no Trello for the next Blood Moon. Official noise still lives on the wiki links page: group wall and Discord.
If a new moon ships in a patch, it will land on this page and on updates. Until then, the rule is simple: stay, look up, swap stick if vis dies, do not hop the second the sky gets interesting.
